Ōtorohanga District Council – Community Feedback Platform

Ōtorohanga District Council (OTODC) need to design and develop a standalone website that would serve as a central platform for engaging with their local community. The primary goal was to create a space where residents could easily access key information and provide direct feedback on matters affecting the district.

The website was built to accommodate both standard content pages for general updates and news, as well as a dedicated feedback section where users could participate in public discussions by casting votes on specific topics or proposals. This voting mechanism offered a simple yet effective way for the council to gauge community sentiment and encourage public input.

Throughout the development process, I ensured the platform was user-friendly, mobile-optimised, and scalable — capable of adapting to future campaign needs or feedback formats. The project was delivered on schedule and met all of the council’s expectations.

The end result was a streamlined, accessible digital solution that empowered the community to engage more actively with local decision-making. Following its successful launch, the site became a valuable tool for ongoing civic participation and transparent communication between council and constituents.
